LJT Agosto  07, 2020 JAMES LIPMAN/ROAD & TRACK The counties that make up the borderlands of far northern California and southern Oregon are a day’s drive and a country apart from San Francisco and Portland. Six hours of freeway from south or north, longer if you take a route with some blood in its veins. Sparsely populated and remote, dominated by the stark ridges of the western Cascades, the area’s communities have spent 80 years flirting with secession. If they ever succeed, the region will become the 51st state—tentatively named Jefferson—but still be home to some of the best driving on the continent. BY  JAY RAMEY FEB 3, 2020 JEEP We knew from the start that when Jeep designed the  Gladiator  it designed it to be a very niche offering: It's neither a  Ram 1500  underneath nor a Wrangler with a sliced-off roof for the cargo compartment.  The resulting vehicle  did not disappoint, offering genuine off-road ability with a very well thought-out cargo hauling capacity, along with a longer wheelbase to make it all fit together. The resulting vehicle was not cheap: The  Gladiator  debuted with a starting price of $35,040, before a pack of options that could easily propel it $10,000 north of that mark and beyond. In fact,  the automaker  expected that a big chunk of  Gladiators  would end up being $45,000 or higher out the door, because if you were buying one to begin with this meant that you were pr

But this is different. It offers something that a road car simply can’t. RELATED STORY 2020 Honda Civic Si: Small Changes to a Great Car That's a bit surprising when you consider the specs. The Civic Si TCA is not radically different than the road car it's based on. Built for the SRO Touring Car America series' entry-level TCA class, Honda starts with a  Civic Si coupe  body-in-white, Honda Performance Development (HPD) fits upgraded brakes, suspension components, and a full roll cage. The powertrain is largely the same as in the road car, and there's even a six-speed H-p
